Child Welfare Policy
Children train at Apex six days a week, from Cubz at age four to Juniors at fourteen. We take the responsibility of looking after them seriously. This page sets out our safeguarding principles, who’s responsible for what, and how to raise a concern.

Apex has a named Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) responsible for handling any safeguarding concerns. Contact details are displayed at the academy and available on request.
Parents and guardians are welcome to watch any class involving their child at any time, without notice. No closed doors during sessions involving children.
All Apex coaches who work with children complete safeguarding-in-sport training (UK Coaching / NSPCC equivalent), refreshed every three years.
We aim for two adults present at any class involving children, including warm-up, training, cool-down, and the period before parents arrive for pickup.
Any concern, about a coach, another child, a parent, or anything else, can be raised directly with the head coach, the DSO, or in writing. All concerns are documented and acted on the same day.
If you have any safeguarding concern, however small, please contact us. You can speak in person to the head coach at the academy, message us on WhatsApp, or email info@apexma.co.uk.
For concerns about a specific child’s welfare outside Apex, you can also contact the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or your local authority safeguarding team.
