A Word From Your Coach

Before You Book.

Most adult boxers at Apex have never boxed before. Some came for fitness. Some came after watching too much YouTube. All of them stay because boxing is unexpectedly enjoyable once you stop being afraid of it.

We teach stance, footwork, defence, distance, in that order. Offence emerges naturally. Sparring is optional and never compulsory.

Twice a week and you’ll move differently inside three months. Six months and people will notice.

See you on the mat,

The Struggle

Sound Familiar?

01The gym is boring and you want to learn a skill
02You used to box and want to come back to it
03You want real self-defence in a class that doesn’t suck
04You want a workout that actually teaches something
05You miss being part of a community

If any of these sound familiar, you’re in the right place. Apex was built for exactly these moments.

Footwork

The foundation everything else rests on.

Most adults who try boxing for the first time are surprised by how much footwork dominates. Pivots, slides, angles. The base from which every offence and defence operates.

Spend three months on footwork and the rest of boxing becomes accessible.

Defence

The art of not getting hit.

Slipping, parrying, distance management. We spend more class time on defence than offence. Most adults find this oddly therapeutic: the puzzle of not being hit.

Defence first builds confidence. Confidence makes offence work.

Conditioning

Cardio with a purpose.

What’s left over from a real boxing class. Circuits, rounds, pad work. Cardio and core that’s never boring because there’s always a technique attached to it.

Twice a week and you’ll see fitness change inside a month.

Sparring

Optional. Controlled. Yours when you want it.

Most adults drill for months before sparring. Many never spar at all and still get the full benefit of training. When you choose to spar, it’s light contact, fully supervised, full kit.
